This was my 4 th visit to Chantek a Thai / Asian restaurant in Truro , Cornwall . It was my first visit in the evening though , i normally go for lunch there , where they do a starter and main for just £10 ! and dont think its of a lower standard as its not . Anyways i went with a friend and i had Thai fish cakes to start with a sweet chilli dip , which although it had a chilli symbol next to it on the menu , wasn't that hot , it was hake and cod in them .
My friend had sushi selection , which was 8 bits of sushi with a soy and wasabi dip , 4 sushi were veggie , the other 4 tuna . Main i had tamarind duck with pak choi , which was delicious and i had egg fried rice side with it
and its probably the of the best dishes ive had there , My friend had chicken morning glory , which was rather spicy , a cambodian dish apparently , i think my friend ordered it purely because of the name , but it was nice .
We skipped dessert although i know from previous visits , that the deep fried ice cream is worth a go , and i promise it tastes better than it sounds , i recommend Chantek to all my friends as the food is great , and its such good value for money .
